A collection of my favourite recreations of the classics, like my take on the famous Singapore noodles with a spicy twist, the Singapore Noodle Pie (tasty bread with fried rice noodles, baked cheese, egg and gyoza egg) and my version of the Singapore Soya Sauce Chicken Rice with Spicy Garlic Sauce, chicken is cooked in a generous amount of soya sauce and garlic, and brown rice is cooked for flavour and as a thicker sauce base.Microarray analysis of gene expression in the HLA-DR4-matched primary immune thrombocytopenia patient.
Immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) is a common autoimmune disorder that primarily afflicts children. Human leukocyte antigens (HLA) class II molecules have recently been implicated in ITP pathogenesis. We performed a genome-wide analysis of HLA-DR4-matched acute ITP (ATI) patients using a cDNA microarray containing 2,181 cDNA clones. We identified genes that were significantly (p 1.5-fold in four different comparisons: one comparison of RMA expression scores of the whole genome (compared with MFI of normal controls); one comparison of the most representative altered clones (clones up- and downregulated >3.5-fold); and two comparison-specific sets (from the downregulated set of genes). Gene networks significantly associated with these five comparisons were identified using the Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA) tool. The most representative associations were found for transcription factor (TF) or cytokine genes. The TFs that participated in the most significant associations were IRF4 and E2F1. Many genes associated with immune function (e.g., IL-2, IL-17A, and IFNG) were also involved. Furthermore, a comparison of the gene expression profiles of the whole genome between normal and ITP-affected leukocyte subsets showed a distinct pattern in ITP patients.
